Simply put injured CFL player's heathcare is capped at 1 year. Unfortunately recovery process does not end in a year or less for every injury. Cost after a year can be expensive to very expensive. Is heath care a guarantee for Canada's workers? Should it be for the CFL Players be considered workers? Are players independent contractors without insurance? Who should be held responsible or not for a player's health or being made whole? So many questions that need answers. It has taken this long to just make the health care system and organized workers aware of this issue. Filling the crack the injured players fall thru wont be easy or cheap. Progress made in this issue will be tested during the next CBA discussion.
