This week, in honor and celebration of Black History Month as well as the Oscars, Sean and Steven review and discuss two documentaries nominated for the Best Documentary Feature Oscar. The first, I am Not your Negro, is about writer James Baldwin and his relationships with Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., and Medgar Evers during the civil rights movement. The second, 13th, is an examination of the systematic subjugation of African Americans by the prison industrial complex in the United States and how we arrived at our present conditions. It's heavy subject matter, but we hope to spark conversation and contemplation, so we hope you enjoy. Rate and review us on iTunes.
