Thoughts and Prayers: Simple Prayer

Pastor Kent Landhuis

THEME - As children of God we pray simple, childlike prayers.

TEXT - Matthew 19:13-16, Matthew 18:1-3

OUTLINE

Our thoughts and prayers makes a difference.

L - Look to your Father.

* Matthew 19:13-16. Jesus blesses his children.

* Mark 10:16. And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

E - Expect the Best.

* Luke 11:11-12. If we know how to give good gifts, how much more does our Heavenly Father?

* James 1:17. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

A - Act like a Kid.

* Matthew 18:3. Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

* Hebrews 11:1. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

P - Put your trust in God.

* Hebrews 4:16. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

* Matthew 6:5-8. We don’t need to keep babbling on and on.

NEXT STEPS

* Ask your Father for anything.

* Lift others to the Father in your thoughts and prayers.
