“If we don’t feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because we have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because we have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Our soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.”  ~ John Piper.

WEEKLY PRAYER

"Father, open my eyes so that I might see you more clearly, savor you more fully, and share you more freely."

Circle or underline any key words or phrases you SEE:

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:15-17)

SAVOR these truths in prayer for you and your student:

Father, you are clear in what is good for us and what is not. Too often our appetites lead us astray. Father, I pray that you would give __________ an appetite that causes supreme delight and enjoyment in you. Keep earthly loves from creeping into their hearts.  Grant them an acute awareness of when they are being lured into the desires of the flesh. Give them eyes to see the futility in loving the things of this world. Cause their love for you to increase and abound in depth, breadth, length, and height. For your glory and their good. In Jesus’ name, amen.
