When we moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2021, a new tradition was created – fireside chats. Sometimes it involves a small group of students from the university nearby. Other times it might be friends, family or others pondering career or life changes. Suzanna & I enjoy the spot to discuss the latest book we’ve read and it’s a fun spot to get a little philosophical with anyone who might be staying the night with us.

Obviously I can’t bring you the warmth of the crackling fire, views of the setting sun or the back-and-forth discourse we enjoy here. But I thought maybe I could help get you started with your own version of a fireside chats by simply opening up my journal, sharing a few open-ended thoughts about some of the things I’ve been pondering lately, and let you take it from there in whatever direction desired. If it’s your first time joining us here on the Catalyst 360 podcast, I’m Dr. Brad Cooper, CEO of Catalyst Coaching 360 and host of the podcast that has been bringing the very best in health, wellness & performance authors, researchers and others to listeners each week now for 295 consecutive episodes. Thank you for joining us for this special edition. We’ll be back with our traditional interview format next week or there’s a really big library of past episodes you can tap into anytime.

Today we'll discuss spheres of control (along with influence and concern), the magic (or damage) of autopilot and the immense value of a personal pondering/planning retreat.
