Prescott Valley Police Department wants to remind the community that Arizona law (A.R.S. 13-3423) protects a person who seeks medical assistance for someone experiencing a drug-related overdose from being charged or prosecuted for the possession or use of a controlled substance or drug paraphernalia. Opioid overdoses continue to occur at an alarming rate in our area; however, there are fewer deaths due to the use of Narcan (brand name for Naloxone) and people seeking help.
