Business across the country all took after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the country. No one took a hit like how Black-owned businesses did.

According to a report from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, active businesses overall took a 22% dip between February and April of this year. The biggest decline came from Black-owned businesses. Black business took a 41% drop between February and April. That's over 400,000 Black-owned businesses that had to close their doors compared to 17% for White businesses.

The ones that have survived had to do so knowing that they would lose revenue and have to reimagine their entire way of doing business.

We recorded a special episode of the CashColorCannabis Podcast recently where we discussed surviving COVID as a Black-owned business. We had a variety of local Atlanta Black business owners come to discuss how they survived the times, what they had to do to maintain, how their business affects how they will vote and what they can take from this time and use in the future.

Listen to our interview with Zack Wallace, owner of Local Green Atlanta, Kenny Thomas, owner of Kenny T's, Rashida Slade, Bridgette Cunnigham and Khadijah Jones with Your CBD Store Atlanta, and Stanzel Jackson and Bryan Chatman with Fruition Hat Co. now.
