It's time to go mad! Aly starts us off with an in-depth look at Lewis Carroll's life (both the good and potentially awful) and a run down of the million things that these books have inspired. Sarrah finally gives us our info on Mary Blair (check our website for some great links). Our recap makes Sarrah irrationally angry, Aly rant about card suits, and leads both of us to caution everyone to watch what they eat!

"Start at the beginning, then when you get to the end...stop!"

This episode Aly & Sarrah go mad with Disney's Alice in Wonderland.

Aly goes through the life and times of Lewis Carroll/Charles Dodgson, discussing his incredible intellect and his questionable hobby of photographing young girls. She also touches on 17th century slang, the split of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, and attempts to name everything that these books have inspired. Spoiler: she doesn't. Among many other things inspired by Alice, Aly forgot to mention the madness that was Mad T Party, a cover band and nighttime event that took place at Disney's California Adventure park based on the Tim Burton movies.

Sarrah follows up on our previous promise and brings us a brief biography of artist Mary Blair. No, we don't sing the Small World song, and we are also not being paid to advertise Pinupgirlclothing.com (but check it out because those outfits are drool-worthy). This was a very concise biography, so be sure to take a look at the links below to really get why we are fangirling so hard over Ms. Blair. She is incredible, original, and really helped to shape this movie!

NOTE: The Mary Blair mural is still in action at the Contemporary Resort in WDW (see photos here), but the murals that were part of Disneyland's Tomorrowland were replaced in the 1980s. You can see photos of them here, as well as what replaced them (Aly is a Star Wars fan, but even she is unimpressed.)

Our recap sees Sarrah getting irrationally mad, accidentally insulting Matt Lucas, a realization by Aly that the flowers are very similar to our previous bitchy elephants, much love for the Mad Tea Party sequence, and a rant about card suits.

ALSO!
If you didn't grow up in Canada in the early 90's and have no idea what this episode title refers to....please do yourself a favour and watch this video.
You will not regret it.

"Don't let's be silly", come listen to us go mad!
