N.B.A. All Star Game The last time the N.B.A. All Star game was in Charlotte was February 1991. It was Michael Jordan’s NC homecoming but Charles Barkley received the M.V.P. award for the game in the old (but not oldest Charlotte Coliseum) on Tyvola (now demolished). Kemba Walker, from the Hornets, a starter in this 2019 version, was 9 months old. Fast forward to now, Michael Jordan, owns the Hornets, & is acting as the host. 150,000 people are descending on our city with media, fans, sponsors & parties being held all over town.
