Economic hardship forced a young Garry to put the lessons taught by his grandparents to great use as he had to support himself through high school by selling fruits and doing odd jobs in construction. The closeness of extended family exposed him to music which ultimately lead him to join the Music Band Section of the Royal St. Lucian Police force.
