Soraya’s book Rage Becomes Her was published in 2018, and in this episode she talks about the premise of her work; that society conditions children’s emotions to respond in particular ways, and as a result, girls are not just discouraged but often punished for being angry, which goes on to have serious repercussions in adult life, at work and in politics.
In a year that has left many women feeling incredibly angry on both sides of the Atlantic, Soraya talks about whether or not change is afoot.
