Nearly one-third of the Senate has decided to retire, marking an end to some long and accomplished legislative careers.  Senator Patricia Torres Ray, DFL-Minneapolis, was the first Latina to serve in the Minnesota Senate and the first woman of color to run for Lieutenant Governor in Minnesota.  She joins Capitol Report moderator Shannon Loehrke to reflect on her Senate career and accomplishments.

Senator Chris Eaton, DFL-Brooklyn Center, was elected to the Senate in a 2011 special election, and has played a crucial role in tackling opioid abuse.  She recently announced her intention to retire, and joins Shannon to talk about some of the key provisions she championed to combat the opioid epidemic.

Also in the program, highlights of the supplemental budget framework agreement between Governor Tim Walz and legislative leaders and a final effort to bring cannabis legalization to the Senate floor for a vote.
