Senate File 1, a bill intended to ensure a right to abortion and other reproductive care in the state, has been making its way through various Senate committees. The author of the bill, Senator Jennifer McEwen, DFL-Duluth, joins Capitol Report moderator Shannon Loehrke to discuss the intent of her legislation.

Freshman Senator Grant Hauschild, DFL-Hermantown, wasted no time moving legislation to help his Iron Range constituents. With strong bipartisan support, he successfully championed a bill to extend unemployment benefits for iron ore miners. He talks with Shannon about the importance of aiding unemployed iron ore workers as well as his new role as a legislator.
