For the last ten years, Ian Young has worked and lived in Canada and currently serves as the South China Morning Post’s Vancouver correspondent. Originally from Australia, Ian has worked as a journalist for more than 20 years and has worked for a variety of publications, including Australian newspapers and the London Evening Standard before arriving in Hong Kong in 1997. During his time in Hong Kong, he won and shared awards for excellence in investigative reporting and human rights reporting as well as taking home the Hong Kong News Awards Scoop of the Year. Host Ben Waterworth chats with Ian about his journey from Australia to Vancouver, the challenges he has faced over the years and working around different reporting styles of three different countries in his work.
