Culture loves self-care, and everyone is trying to sell you the next best self-care item or experience. How does this play into your life? Mark 8:34-38 says, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it." The best gift you can give to the people you're serving is by showing up replenished at your best. In other words, giving to others out of the overflow of your life.
