We welcome writer/ comic creator Jack Wallace this week to first help us remember some of our favorite characters from comics in our Retro Roundtable. We look at Mysterio, Jason Todd, Spider Jerusalem, and more. Let us know your picks in the comments.
Then we turn our attention to Jack to talk about the many different projects he’s involved with. First, we discuss Disposable Fiction Comics. Disposable Fiction Comics is a small press publisher consisting of one writer, Jack Wallace, and one colorist and letterer, Chris Allen. Jack and Chris have collaborated with thoughtful and creative artists who are rich with talent. This collection of short fiction is perfect to read on the subway or the bus. Though you may throw the comic away at the end of your trip, these stories will crawl around near the back of your mind.
Jack is also a co-founder, and the editor-in-Chief of the indie comics newspaper, The Columbus Scribbler. The goal of the Columbus Scribbler is to introduce and educate the people of Columbus to the vibrant comics scene surrounding them and to help foster a love and deeper appreciation for the comics medium as a whole. The Scribbler was nominated for an Eisner award in 2019 for best Comics-Related Periodical.
