Shauna and Rebecca are honored to speak with Tima Kurdi, author of The Boy on the Beach, from her home in Vancouver. This is the book they felt should have been on the shortlist and won the 2019 competition for "one book to move you". Tima's book tells the story of the horrific plight of refugees--especially her brother's family which included her nephew Alan who was literally "the boy on the beach".
