Ep 48: Thomas "Tommy" Scrubb

The Canada Basketball Warrior, Tommy Scrubb, pulls up on Canada Hoops Podcast! Tommy sits down with your boy Matty to share his basketball story thus far. Tommy reflects on his season in Spain and talks about his summer with the Ottawa Blackjacks and potentially the SMNT for Canada Basketball as well. Tommy tells us about growing up in Richmond, BC and playing basketball at a young age. TScrubb talks about playing at Vancouver College and eventually taking his game to Carleton University. Tommy would become a 5 time National Champion as a Carleton Raven ; but despite all of his success Tommy reflects on his time at Carleton as one of true hard work and perseverance. Tommy tells Matty about his professional career thus far and tells us why the CEBL is off to a good, strong start in its' short existence.
Tommy has always represented Canada Basketball to the fullest so you know we get into his time with the SMNT. Tommy reflects on his recent participation in all 12 games of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers for the SMNT for Canada Basketball and why his ability to do so was not only commitment on his part but also commitment and sacrifice on the part of his family; especially his wife Catherine. Tommy also talks about some of his favourite Canada Basketball teammates. Then to wrap it up Tommy drops his great Top 5 and Favourite 5 of all time for Canada Basketball on us!
