THE GOOD

Superb direction. Serious tone. Horror vibes. Great actors, especially the father. The virus/lockdown angle made the movie more relevant (and scarier) than I was expecting. Portrayal of US as another outside monster wreaking havoc. Biting satire.

THE BAD

Comedy didn't always mesh well tonally (when they're crying, not sure if I was supposed to laugh?) Story ends on extremely bitter-sweet note. A little too bitter for my tastes, but it may work for you.

THE DOWNRIGHT CAMPY

Film can be summed up as a 'series of unfortunate events'. Sometimes those mishaps are hilarious and sometimes they involve a bow & arrows.

Classic. Bong Joon-ho plays with comedy, drama, horror and satire to create a thrilling cocktail that stands the test of time.
