THE GOOD
The Rock - er, Dwayne Johnson - carries the film. Dashing, witty, sincere. Equal kudos to George the Gorilla. The story invests in their development allowing us to buy into the cheese fest to come. Good actors. Diverse cast. Delightful carnage & mayhem.
THE BAD
Typical popcorn fare. Nothing unique. You'll laugh but not cry. The video game has a more interesting premise. The Rock's character is almost too super-human: couldn't buy him surviving a shot to the side. Couldn't buy George surviving a chest impalement.
THE DOWNRIGHT CAMPY
Texan agent is 100% over the top - very fun. Using science mumbo-jumbo to explain any plot hole the movie needs it to.

A well-made summer blockbuster with a lot of fun moments and likable characters, but probably won't stand the test of time.
