Previous Episode: The Three Legs of Faith
Next Episode: Faith of our Fathers

Following Jesus' parable addressing covetousness and encouraging a God-centered perspective of contentment towards the things we have in life, He doubles down on the point that we don't know when we will stand before God. On top of physical death, there is a promise made repeatedly in scripture that He could come for His people at a time they do not expect. The only appropriate response to this teaching isn't to challenge or contradict it, but to live in light of it. Be ready to see the Lord today. Main Points: 1. The best way to avoid false teachings on this topic is to know the teaching for yourself. Don't go farther or settle for less than what Jesus plainly said was the case. 2. The point Jesus makes over and over again is that no man knows the day or the hour. Anyone who tries to play around with that statement is already suspect of trying to sell something the Bible didn't give them. 3. The greatest incentive towards Godly living is a life that lives in anticipation of His return at any time. We aren't promised a tomorrow, so live for Him today.
