Ever wonder what it takes to be a better parent? It can feel disheartening struggling for years between not knowing if what you’re seeing from your kid is “normal” and hoping that your abilities as a parent are enough to shape and redirect their behavior to fit society’s expectations. There is a lot of pressure to be a parent with obedient kids who are always well put together and mind their manners, but reality is often the exact opposite. Parenting is the hardest job ever and there is no manual, or is there?
Join child therapist (and avid kid’s movie fan), Dr. Tsunami Turner, as she explores parenting lessons from popular movies. Dr. Tsunami has worked in private practice for over 5 years helping children and their parents reconnect when behavioral problems, lack of communication, and mental illness have driven them apart. You don’t have to feel lost, suffering, or powerless to help your child. You will learn tools to create a deeper, more meaningful connection built on trust and understanding in the parent-child relationship.
Dr. Tsunami takes a unique perspective in improving your parenting skills utilizing movies as a launching point to help answer common parenting questions. You will walk away from every episode with a better understanding of what your child is thinking, feeling, and why they act the way they do. Our goal is to help you build your connection with your child to reduce stress, arguments, and become a better parent in short weekly episodes.
