Our guest this week is Author and Old Hollywood Historian, Ralph Schiller.

He is an Author known for his books on 1950’s American stage, film, radio, and television actor, Broderick Crawford (Broderick starred in 1950’s Television series Highway Patrol). Ralph is also very well versed in Old Hollywood History, and has a very special interest in twin Actresses Anna Maria Pierangeli, and Marisa Pavan. His interest in Broderick Crawford began when he first saw 1954 Noir/Crime Drama ‘Down three Dark Streets’ with Marisa Pavan.

In this episode we talk about Broderick Crawford, Old Hollywood, how he decided to write these books, and of course — Anna Maria Pierangeli and Marisa Pavan.

This episode is special because Anna Maria Pierangeli was the only love of James Dean, and this story is seldom spoken of from the perspective of those who know a great deal about Anna (or Pier Angeli as Hollywood knows her). Anna died at the tender age of 39 in West Hollywood, California in 1971. Her twin sister Marisa was also a successful actress, and went on to act in more films and she is still alive.
