This week we discuss the latest film in the DC Universe - Shazam! Fury of the Gods - directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Grace Caroline Currey, Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou, and Helen Mirren. Continuing where the first film left off, this film follows Billy Batson and his family of superheroes (Shazamily) empowered by the magic of the ancient wizard, Shazam. This film has drawn the discontent of many fans who struggle to see how an artifact of a toppled Warner Brothers regime can relate and connect with the new DCEU led by James Gunn. Nonetheless, any film should be able to stand on its' own legs and not rely on the ceaseless industry of interconnected content... right?
