Previous Episode: 20 | HH Forming Habits

Stefanie Diaz is a successful marketing strategist, radio host, and brand guru who specializes in empowering entrepreneurs. With over a decade of experience providing marketing strategy to companies spanning pre-launch to over $100 million in annual revenue, Stefanie’s insights have been sought out by serial entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Today, her passion is working with emerging female founders and leaders as they claim their unique voice in the marketplace.

Inspired to deliver an Ellen meets Oprah concept for entrepreneurial women, Stefanie launched W.O.E. {Women Only Entrepreneurs} on April 25th, 2017 at The Wimbish House in Midtown Atlanta to much success. With glowing reception, what began as an event quickly evolved into the powerful WOE community that exists today.

Prior to founding WOE, Stefanie spent two and a half years sharing her insights and compelling stories from Atlanta entrepreneurs as Host of the Mastermind Your Launch Podcast which generated over 130,000 unique listeners per episode and created more than 100 shows.

Recently named an Atlanta Startup Wonder Women by Hypepotamus, Stefanie’s impact on the Atlanta entrepreneurial community goes beyond W.O.E. and the personal brand strategy work she does with her clients. She is a Community Organizer for 1 Million Cups Atlanta and a 2-time mentor at Techsquare Labs’ Atlanta Startup Battle.

The Burnt Out Experience

Recently, a LOT was asked of Stefanie. She was asked to be involved in many events, sit on boards, and continue to grow her business, which was already on a fast track to success. She didn't recognized she was headed for burnout.

She was normally an in-bed-by-10 type of person, but she found herself waking up after putting her son to bed having fallen asleep with him for a few nights in a row. It's was totally out of the ordinary and she was exhausted!!

All these commitments were taking up her precious time and she needed a way to use it as wisely as possible.

How did she deal? She Said No

She'll never forget - it was a Thursday night.

She typed up resignations to boards she was on, for the first time EVER she setup an "out-of-office" email, and scheduled herself a spa appointment. She decided to say no to all the other available opportunities... scary right??!

She celebrated cutting out all the other commitments in her life in order to go all in on her business. She knows that she never would have created a successful organization if she didn't dedicate all her working time to that one plan.

Give Yourself Permission

If you know where you'd like to go, or even if you know you'd like to try something new, give yourself permission to do it.

If you need to say no to something, give yourself permission to do it.

Don't say yes to something unless it's a HELL YES and it's okay to let something go when you realized that it's run it's course - and that things do run their course. Just remember to give yourself permission to do whatever it is you need to do OR not do.

Make the changes you need to in order to try and experience new things or to dedicate yourself to something more fully, whatever it may be. If you need to break a previous commitment, that can be OKAY! Just be intentional and approach the situation with professionalism.
