Kristina calls her first record a "10-year-record" because SO many roadblocks rolled into her path as she was attempting to become an artist. She was emotionally (and monetarily) bankrupt, encountered severely toxic relationships, and it was all connect to the music business. It was too hard to compartmentalize all of these stressful situations and she needed a way out. It got to the point where she felt totally jaded and flipped a total 180.

She left the music business and picked up her guitar maybe 5 times in the next five years. She went back to school at that point a grabbed a degree in earth science and interned in an isotope geochemistry lab - Whoa. She was fully planning on getting her PhD, but then she started to burnout once more, pivoted hard again, and fell into a career in fitness.

Then, it hit her like a ton of brick, she realized it was time to get back to music.

How did she deal? External Forces

Kristina was in an extremely toxic relationship. Her way out was one she doesn't wish on any, but she is grateful for the experience getting her to where she is today. At age 23, the interference of police and then her parents was the external force that shook her life into a new perspective.

Spirituality

Kristina was raised Catholic and recognizes that not everyone believes in a higher power, but for her this was important. Her ability to ask for help from God help her to move past her demons and become grateful that she is alive and well.

Keep Going

Kristina was able to tell herself and motivate herself by realizing that no one else is going to do it for her. She needs to show up everyday, because no one else was going to do it for her.
