7 points and 3 teams now separate Dortmund and Bayern. Gladbach, Leipzig and Frankfurt claim impressive wins while Hertha and Bremen keep on struggling. The bottom three teams all manage to win. Alongside the standard matchday discussion, we talk about the 2. Bundesliga, which is as competitive as ever.

We expected a lot from the season’s first Klassiker… and we weren’t left disappointed! In one of the games of the season so far, Borussia Dortmund came away 3-2 winners against Bayern Munich. It was a good day for BVB, but not for the Bavarians, who were dispatched despite a strong first half showing thanks to a Marco Reus-inspired Dortmund performance.

Borussia Mönchengladbach took advantage of Bayern’s loss to consolidate their second place spot with a 3-1 at Werder Bremen. Alassane Plea’s first Bundesliga hattrick led the side to victory, which puts them three points behind the leaders. It was also a good weekend for RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt, with both securing 3-0 victories. The two now sit third and fourth respectively.

Other results see Schalke 04 pulled back in to the relegation battle after they were on the end of that Frankfurt reverse. Wins for Stuttgart, Hannover and Nurnberg mean that only five points separate 10th placed Augsburg and bottom side VfB. Bayer Leverkusen’s loss to Leipzig sees them remain in trouble.

As ever, we have all of this action covered for you, before moving on to our In Depth section. This week, we take a look at the 2.Bundesliga, which is as competitive as ever, and look at who could be gaining promotion to the top tier.

As always, a very special thanks to our friends ‘Phre The Eon’ for the theme music. Anyone interested can find them on Facebook.
