About Marcin Kleczynski, CEO, Malwarebytes
Marcin Kleczynski was only 14 years old when he wrote the first version of Malwarebytes after getting his parent’s computer infected with a virus that a popular antivirus solution missed. When starting his search for a fix, Marcin looked to online experts and online boards of volunteers to help him clean his parent’s computer. The volunteers immediately jumped at the chance to help Marcin and their kindness sparked his mission to offer a free anti-malware solution to protect against computer infections, malware and ultimately, cybercriminals. Four years later in 2008, Marcin founded Malwarbytes which has since grown to a team of 250 in 14 countries that now protects more than 50,000 businesses globally. His company’s solutions have been downloaded more than 500 million times and removed more than five billion pieces of suspicious software. Marcin has been named to the 2015 Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Rising Stars of Enterprise Technology list, won the 2014 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was named to the Silicon Valley Business Journal 40 Under 40.
