In this episode of The Art of Lawyering Podcast I just couldn't help but draw some comparisons to some stuff that was going in with me in real life.

Yep, I'm talking about toddler swim lessons.

And I'm partaking not once, but twice, with each of my kids.
Toddler Swim Lessons are a Lot Like Starting a Law Firm
I noticed today as I was dragging my little one around, trying not to accidentally dunk him, that there were a lot of similarities between what goes on in the pool and what happens when you decide to start a law firm.

I decided I might as well talk about that here.

Here are the five things I came up with (if you want to find out exactly how they are similar and a little back story on each you're going to have to listen in):
No crying in the pool;
You're going to swallow a little water - it's just part of the experience;
You have to jump off the edge and trust someone will be there to catch you;
It's okay to play by yourself every once in a while; and
It's nice to have someone there holding the towel when it's all over.
I hope if you are thinking about how to start a law firm, have started a law firm and are struggling, or have a good thing going and are interested in reaching the next level, you'll subscribe to my newsletter.

Cheers.
