What are your personal expectations for Ohio State's 2023 football season? What would make the season a sure-fire success in your book? Is it still "national championship or bust" as many felt in 2022? Would the Buckeyes defeating Michigan and winning the Big Ten make the season a success in your mind, regardless of what happened from that point on? Dave Biddle flies solo on today's show to discuss that, a rare Buckeye-less Super Bowl, and the "beat" going on for OSU's basketball team (or should we say beats, plural, since the Buckeyes are now mired in their longest losing streak in 25 years (6 games) and are just 1-10 in their last 11 contests. They reached a new low -- literally -- by scoring just 41 points in their 21-point loss to visiting Michigan State yesterday. And somehow the Buckeyes were favored in that game! It is embarrassing and unacceptable for this to happen in the sixth year of Chris Holtmann's tenure, but as we've pointed out on the show many times recently, there are $20 million reasons why Holtmann won't be going anywhere after this year. Right or wrong (we're leaning heavy toward the latter) that is the reality of the situation. The other reality to the situation is OSU's hoops squad has become unwatchable and the excuse-making for Holtmann needs to stop.
But we'll mostly talk about Ohio State football. Don't worry.
All of that and more is coming your way on the Monday 5ish.
