Dwayne Haskins was not in the mood to be politically correct after falling to pick No. 15 of the first round of the NFL Draft to the Washington Redskins Thursday night.
Haskins' exact words were: "I'm more motivated than ever. Now I've got an even bigger chip on my shoulder. The league done messed up."
And it wasn't just that Haskins slipped to the middle part of the round. It is that the New York Giants selected QB Daniel Jones from Duke at pick No. 6 instead of Haskins. Now, Giants GM Dave Gettleman might be the only person on the planet who would have done that, but he did it.
Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle on today's show to discuss why Haskins fell in this draft. Is there something fans don't know about, or is this just the typical paralysis by analysis that we see from the NFL?
But hey, the good news is Haskins became the first Big Ten quarterback to be taken in the first round since Kerry Collins from Penn State in 1995. Haskins also became the first Ohio State QB to be taken in the first round since Art Schlichter in 1982. Furthermore, Haskins gets to play his professional ball for a team located just 14 miles from Haskins' parents' house in Potomac, Md. (The Haskins family moved from New Jersey to the D.C. area when Haskins was in 9th grade.)
Also, Nick Bosa went No. 2 overall to the San Francisco 49ers.
How early will Dre'Mont Jones, Parris Campbell, Terry McLaurin, Michael Jordan and perhaps others hear their names called during rounds 2-3 tonight?
All of that and more on a drafty version of the Friday extravaganza.
