Ohio State earned the No. 1 spot in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2023 season on Tuesday. Is this just a fun thing for fans, or does it actually mean something that the Buckeyes received top billing?
Also, it is football and injuries are going to happen. But the ailments are starting to pile up for Ohio State. Head coach Ryan Day revealed on Tuesday that running back Miyan Williams will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Also, Day did not appear to be confident that safety Lathan Ransom would be available anytime soon following a leg injury he suffered against Wisconsin last week.
Furthermore, quarterback Kyle McCord continues to deal with an ankle ailment that he appeared to re-injure against the Badgers.
The news is not all bad though on the injury front. Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka is expected to play this Saturday at Rutgers after missing the last three games. Also, backup quarterback Devin Brown – who is dealing with a high ankle sprain – was expected to return to practice on Tuesday (in limited fashion).
On today’s show, Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle to discuss the Buckeyes being ranked No. 1 by the CFP committee, the latest on OSU’s injuries and much more.
That is coming your way on the Wednesday 5ish.
