Writer Jack Thorne (Skins, This Is England 86/90, How We Live Now) talks about how he got started in TV and Film, writing War Book and his own writing style/approach.

War Book is about government officials practicing their response and decisions in a simulated escalation of nuclear threat. Despite being an exercise the emotional journey is frightening real. Politically speaking, it services both left wing angst and right wing confidence. Ben Chaplin's political advisor character, Gary, is like a good looking Boris Johnson. Whereas Antony Sher's civil servant acting as a minister quietly reveals much more about his own psychological make up than is entirely necessary to make his view point clear. In the end you're forced to ask yourself why have nuclear weapons if you're not going to use them.

It stars Kerry Fox, Ben Chaplin, Adeel Akhtar, Antony Sher and Sophie Okonedo
