On May 27, 1923, in Furth, Germany, a child was born who would grow up to be one of, if not the most important diplomats in the history of the planet.

Heinz Alfred Kissinger, who today turns 99 years old,  an immigrant who  would grow up to be an  American citizen, who would get America, his adopted land, out of one of the most protracted, divisive, wars in our history,  who would also open Communist China from diplomatic Isolation, who would broker peace in the Middle East that would lead to the successes of Jimmy Carter in the late 1970's,  who would also begin a process that would thaw the Cold War with the Soviet Union, and who after leaving office would provide guidance that would help direct American Foreign Policy for the next half century and counting.

It can be said without hesitation that Dr. Henry Kissinger has led a truly amazing an inspirational life.

If Richard Nixon should be considered one of the greatest leaders our country has ever produced their is no question that Dr. Henry Kissinger deserves an enormous amount of credit for skillfully carrying out the policy that made it all possible. Kissinger's impact on the world is incalculable.  We here at "Bridging the Political Gap" think its high time that someone recognizes both men for their roles in making a safer world and we are thankful that Henry Kissinger is still living to see us say thank you.

In this special edition of our show we celebrate the life, the impact, and the wisdom of Dr. Henry Kissinger, America's National Living Treasure and we wish Dr. Kissinger a happy birthday and many, many more moments in which we can share his wise, and thoughtful advice.
