Raising boys to live beyond the man-box so humanity can create a better world, with author Uju Asika

Uju Asika is the author of Bringing up Race, and her latest book Raising Boys who do Better. She speaks on topics such as race, intersectionality and anti-racist parenting. Formerly a journalist Uju has featured across mainstream media, including Good House Keeping, Marie Claire, Good Morning Sunday and Woman’s Hour.

Raising Boys Who do Better is a hopeful guide to raising a new generation of boys who are able to embrace their true selves. In other words, boys who are free from the constraints of the ‘Man Box’ and who can be kinder, more compassionate to themselves and others, conscious and accountable. It’s a call to parents, educators and anyone who cares about the boys in their lives and the men they will become. We can all do better.

She believes that courage is finding whatever spark there is within you to keep going, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when you’re scared, even when it seems impossible. In many ways, courage is an act of faith.
