If there is a better and more magical
Christmas film than Frank Capraâs ITâS A WONDERFUL LIFE, then I would surely
like to know what it is. Yes, there have been a very small selection of great
Christmas films, classics like MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET and A
CHRISTMAS CAROL to more recent works like THE POLAR EXPRESS (a film that I am
willing to bet my morning donut on will be much more respected in the years to
come). Yet, Capraâs 1946 film still goes down as one of the most watched and
cherished of all the Christmas films. Anyone doubting this assertion should
consider one obvious sentiment: can you not find this film on any major
television channel either on or before Christmas?

Not likely.
