Harry Chapin was the nicest guy you’d ever meet. He was a singer and songwriter, best known for his folksy pop rock songs. He’s in the Grammy Hall of Fame and has sold more than 16 million records. Harry was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his humanitarian work. He performed this song “Taxi” on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. The performance was so popular that Chapin was called back to sing it on the show the next night, the only time that this had ever happened. Harry Chapin had another international hit, “W-O-L-D” about an aging disc jockey who up his entire life and family for his career. And then in 1974 he had a number one hit “Cats in the Cradle.”
