The Beau Brummels was an American rock band, formed in San Francisco in 1964. Some fans thought they were British. Sylvester Stewart, better known as Sly Stone, produced the group’s first recordings. They drew comparisons to the Beatles. Their song “Laugh Laugh” came about after the group’s Ron Elliott heard the Four Seasons on the radio, after listening to one of their songs. He wrote it in 15 minutes. This conversation is made up of outtakes from a WITI-TV6 interview, recorded backstage at the noisy Milwaukee arena, now the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. In this conversation we hear how they developed their sound and their name.
