Carol J. Adams is an American writer, feminist, and animal rights advocate. She is the author of several books, including The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary and The Pornography of Meat, which is being updated for release at the end of October 2020. Amongst a whole host of intersectional subjects, Carol focuses in particular on the links between the oppression of women and that of non-human animals. In this conversation, Carol & I discuss the forthcoming US General Election & what exactly is at stake, the rise of Social media & its impact upon veganism & the retelling of the 'white male saviour' story guised as vegan activism.
