Interventions and the need for interventions pervade the content this week on the soaps. EastEnder’s Mick needs to be rescued from Slimy Stu, while on Emmerdale, the Dingle Court is brought to session to address Charity’s drinking and destructive behavior. On Corrie and on General Hospital some serious plot intervention is needed, when characters walk onto the screen only to die the death of plot device, or suffer the fate worse than death; to bore the audience into their grave.
