001- Aspiring rapper turned Def Jam music mogul in the making with MJ

In this episode, we talk to Michael Jackson, a West Coast Promotions Coordinator for Def Jam Recordings. Michael shares his story of growing up in a small town in Arkansas as the son of a DJ and neighborhood CD man. He went from aspiring to be a rapper to reframing his goals to be apart of the business sides of the music industry. Along the way, Michael shares life lessons on stepping into his own as a professional, persevering through the death of his parents, and not only meeting but working with his idols as a peer.
