Meet my Guest: Sanchia Alasia  is the former mayor for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. An award winning specialist in equality diversity and Human Resource she currently works at Southbank University as their equality and diversity manager. She was first elected to the Council in 2010 and was the first of three Black women to be elected there.  She has held a number of positions - School Governor, chair of the health and adult services scrutiny committee and chair of the planning committee. Sanchia was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis in 2010 and has used her political position to raise awareness of the impact of the condition of her and the women that suffer from it. 


Meet My Guest: Anita Gohill Thorp is a former City based lawyer, mum to 2 daughters and a transformational coach supporting lawyers, business owners, CEOs and directors to find success and fulfilment in their lives and work. She also set up Synergy Women in Business, a network for local business women and, during 2020, established Elevate Coaches Circle supporting coaches to sharpen their skills.   Anita also lives with a still not-well known chronic condition called Endometriosis, a debilitating condition that actually affects the menstrual cycle experience of 1 in 10 women.
