Michael’s pioneering approach to apiculture as a platform for global renewal has appeared in national and international magazines, books and films. He has presented his work at Harvard University & New York University, and he has consulted for the USDA.  He is the founder of Apis Arborea (www.apisarborea.com) - a nonprofit organization that promotes the rehabilitation of the natural nesting habitat of honeybees through rewilding and a holistic ecological framework.  Michael is lay-ordained in the Zen Buddhist tradition and pursues a multidisciplinary approach to apiculture.  He currently lives with his family, and an infinity of bees, in the oak woodlands of Northern California.
