Episode 28: Animation, Digital Artistry, and Robots with Paul Fleer

Ever heard of a digital artist? Among other things, it's the kind of job where you get to work on marvel films and helps builds giant robots. Sounds cool huh? In this episode, Caspar speaks to 29 year old digital artist Paul Fleer. Paul has a background in architecture, but decided to swap careers early on to escape the rigidity of the industry.  As a digital artist he creates visual effects alongside animators and engineers. He’s worked on blockbuster Hollywood films like Dr Strange, Alien Covenant, Black Panther (gasp!) and even the LEGO movie spin offs! And Paul is now helping build giant dinosaurs and king king robots for stage shows and theme parks! Hear Paul Binge Thinking his life navigating a design mind, coding, being obsessed with efficiency but all the while dealing with anxiety about his future after falling into such a niche field of work.
