In the not so distant past, a lone UFO crash lands in rural England in the dead of night. Its pilot, the enigmatic KLINE, brings a gift of advanced technology... and a dire warning of things to come.

In the less distant future, the first in a series of devastating attacks wipes out a major U.S. city. Preparations could have been made to meet the threat... but a certain visitor’s warnings were not taken seriously.

Now a frightened nation races against the clock to prepare for the next assault. But its greatest hope for survival will come from an unexpected direction. A whole new class of warrior will arise from within the populace: mechanics and stock brokers and waitresses and students, average Americans who share a very specific and underappreciated talent.

Leading them in the fight will be Kara Dunn, a pragmatic young woman with no idea of the destiny she alone can fulfill...
