If this podcast was around in 1942, "The Pride of the Yankees" might be considered a Hall of Fame baseball movie that features incredible baseball action.
However it's 2020 and with 80 years of hindsight, not so much. Andrew Rotondi of Bronx Pinstripes joins Big Screen Sports to break down the Lou Gehrig biopic. He and host Kyle Bandujo try to step into the shoes of 1942 movie goers and discuss the baseball action, the angelic depiction of Lou Gehrig, and the performance of Gary Cooper as the recently deceased Gehrig. They'll pick best scenes, discuss a problematic mother-son relationship, and analyze the athleticism of Gary Cooper.
