The Burrendong Classic, one of the biggest inland fishing events in NSW, is on this Friday.

Scott Levi catches up with Matt Hansen to talk about this massive event which is set to lure a pilgrimage of over 3,000 anglers to Burrendong, an inland fishing mecca.

The target species are the giant Yellow Belly, also known as Golden Perch, that live in this huge freshwater impoundment, three times bigger than Sydney Harbour.

The event has generated tens of thousands of dollars for freshwater fish habitat restoration in the Central West of the State.
