Today we are joined by Jay Astafa to share about the big things he is up to an how he is transforming the landscape of vegan food as we know it!
Jay Astafa discovered veganism as a teen, after seeing a PETA video showing the horrors of factory farming. So Jay began experimenting with food. Working in his father’s pizza joint, he started to develop his kitchen skills. The New York Times took notice when 3 Brothers Pizza Café expanded its offerings to include Jay’s vegan creations.
3 Brothers Pizza Café became a destination for animal lovers and the lactose intolerant alike. Jay hosted his first pop-up on Manhattan’s Lower East Side and, since May 2013, he’s been helming Jay Astafa Catering, which services clients from New York to Miami.
Jay attended both the Natural Gourmet Institute and the International Culinary Center an this summer, Jay launched his latest pop-up series — PLANT by jay astafa Jay also opened a 100% vegan eatery, 3 Brothers Vegan Café, the first of its kind on Long Island.
