After serving in the United States Air Force between 1952-1956, Norman Bush left his hometown of Louisville, KY, to follow his dream of being an actor. He moved to New York and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts alongside classmates like Robert Redford, and went on to enjoy a 50-year career as an actor in stage, television and film productions in the US and abroad.
His attraction to wall collages prompted him to purchase an old Leica 3B camera in early in 1965, which led to years of archiving wall-scapes throughout Manhattan. Norman Bush joins hosts Nancy J. Reid and Lisa D. Smith on Big Blend Radio, to discuss his career as an actor, and his street photography that documents over 50 years of history through images of bill postings, notices and playbills that were plastered on buildings throughout NYC.
