Jesus on the way to his execution heard many voices. Voices of sorrow and lament. Voices of mockery and lies. Voices raised in curse and abuse. But Jesus also spoke. On the way he stopped to give a prophecy. From the cross he uttered prayer words and words of acceptance and assurance of eternal life to the repentant thief who believed in him.  This is a reading from the passion narrative according to Luke, with comments.
